    Hi Y'all

Yep, I am from Tennessee. I am retired from Nissan at 50 because of a back injury. I love being outdoors, but because of my bad back I have been limited to what I can do. Because I love landscapeing and being outdoors I have taken up photography as my new hobby. It allows me to be outside and still be able to enjoy nature and wildlife. I have just bought my Nikon D3000 and I don't have a clew how to use all the settings yet, but I am willing to learn. I look forward to meeting new friends who can guide me in the right direction in my new hobby.

I like your name you chose, very similar to my company name.
You will like the camera I love Nikon equioment, not only do you have the backing of a great manufacture, but the support from literally thousand of photogs out there.

The d3000 is the updated d40 not a bad little body! Go out there and shoot some pictures and post them here. Some of the critism can be harsh at times but it is meant to help us all improve our abilities.

  4. Welcome, I am a Pentax man myself so no help here. Find a local camera club if they are proactive you will injoy them very much. I love my club Simsbury Camera Club in CT

Welcome aboard, Snapshot. I'm sorry to hear about your back but also jealous that you have so much free time for photography. The only problem with shooting a Nikon is that when you make a mistake you can't blame the camera. They are very good instruments that will take you far if you will master their features.
