This is amazing place. It is Juniper Springs in the Ocala National Forest and the sand at the bottom of these spring-fed pools really is that color. The coloring comes from an algae that lives in the clay at the bottom of the poos and lends the area its name. I was looking to mix the reflections in the foreground with the sandy bottoms of the pools in the back but simply wasn't happy with the results.

I know what you are saying the mind's eye vs the camera's eye only when they meet do we get a great photograph. look more mid day then early morn or late after if easy for you to get to hit the golden hours

I think you are right, this is one of those occasions where late day did not serve me well. I suspect mid-day would have worked much better.
