the S2IS is a pain to carry around. I am thinking I might review some of the ultra portable point and shoots so that I always have a decent camera with me. Was looking at the Ricoh but it is very pricey for a compact camera.
I was actually thinking of one of the small ixus models with the IS in it. You really need the IS and that is why I didn't get that style when they first came out, they've come a long way since then...
I wish I had one today, ANY camera, this morning out at the beach at 5:30AM watching people on horseback riding through the waves. The ONLY day that I haven't brought the camera to the beach... doh.
I just upgraded to the SD630, but I have no review for it yet. Hopefully I'll get the chance to use it a bit this weekend and offer a review of some sort.
I've just won a Canon Ixus i7, so that will be my new pocket camera![]()
Weapon of choice: Nikon D70
sony cybershot P150 7.2 megapixels...I want to buy a newer Canon just to get something a little thinner..
For some reason, my CANON Powershot A710 IS fits into my pocket. Comes very handy.
Not really. I bought the Nikon S6 for my wife last year. There are a few good things about it though: screen on the back is gorgeous, the menus are pretty simple, and the Macro mode is FANTASTIC. It blows away my Canon S80 for macro shots, you can focus as close as you want and it takes very sharp picture. Other than that the autofocus is slow, the flash metering is a joke. Low light turns this camera into "disposable camera" quality range.
My pocket camera is the canon s80 and it is nothing short of fantastic. It has a great lens and a very powerful flash. This thing is a great party camera, it can freeze the action in the dark because the powerful flash allows faster shutter speeds. I really like it.
As of Friday night, my pocket camera is the SD1000. Usually whenever someone comes into my store this is the first camera I point them to, so when the girlfriend got it for me I was pleasantly surprised.

when i lost my motorola v3x last week, i stumbled upon the sony ericsson K810i. It is a cybershot 3.2MP camera masquerading as a phone! really cool and it fits on my pocket :-) just perfect. I still have my canon ixus i though.
